If two mind readers are reading each other's mind, then whose mind are they actually reading?

There were two waves in the ocean. It was a beautiful full moon and tides were high. Each wave was rising a little higher than the other one. The two waves became curious as to how the other wave is rising higher. Both the waves thought there could be something underneath that is making the other wave rise high. So both of them decided to dive deeper into the ocean to find out. Once they dove deeper, the waves ceased to be waves and merged into the ocean. The ocean just smiled:). So the subtler we go, the deeper we go, there is no two. So when the individual mind goes deeper to find the source of itself ( source of thought -its thought or the other mind’s thought ), it merges into the universal consciousness. All thoughts arise in one consciousness. So to your question- The two mind readers are in the space of one common universal consciousness. They are just reading one big mind! People with years of experience in meditation often experience this. They can catch others thoughts without any effort as they are in that space of universal consciousness.
