If I am not the doer, then how do I accumulate Karma?

Good question. This is very subtle. Lets say you are a good cook. Hmm , Lets say Kirana cooks Bisibelebath very well. You have cooked bisibelebath many times and every time is the taste the same? Sometimes, it tastes super good, sometimes it tastes just ok, sometime salt is less, sometimes you forget an ingredient. Isn’t so? If Kirana is the doer, then every time you cook, the dish should taste the same, Isn’t so? See below.

The entire world is made up of 5 elements, Earth, air, water fire, ether. There are 3 qualities satva, rajas and tamas. There are 3 distortions vata, pitta, kapha. Every individual has a unique combination of these elements, qualities and distortions. Your body and mind is also influenced by these. All the elements are acting as per their nature. The air (wind) is moving, water is flowing, space is everywhere. In your body, heart is beating on its own, the blood is flowing, there is a certain temperature. You are not in control of anything. You are sitting still and suddenly when the air element dominates, you feel like shaking your body, mind feels little movement. When fire element dominates, you feel angry, when space element dominates, you feel love etc. So everything is happening as per its nature. When you identify yourself with these elements and these emotions, you feel bound by anger, attachment, fear etc. This repeated identification by you with these elements cause the impression in your mind, resulting in karma and bondage.

So as long as you are not in witness consciousness, you will not be free and think that you are the doer. Once the realization comes that you are in fact a witness and not the doer ( of bisibelebath:)) then, no karma will be accumulated.

Listen to Ashtavakara, Read Yoga Vaishishta everyday . Then you will know that mind itself is an illusion.
